The Top 5 Coats for the Winter Season

I have been on the hunt for new coats this season for the last two months. I feels like I have looked at almost every major retailer in all of London. Sadly, it just seems like I haven't had any luck at all. Until this week, when I managed to find not one, but two amazing coats in one week. Then I began to find a flurry of more amazing coats, until it has just been coat after winter coat. Somehow, I think i have finally narrowed it down to my top 5 coats of the season

This has got to be by FAR my favorite coat of the season. Faux fur has always been a favorite of mine, even before it was a fan favorite. Now the faux fur coat is in style in a big way- a calf to floor length all out, all over (faux) fur coat- think Jay-Z. My only word of caution before you take the plunge, is to make sure you invest a little extra in order to ensure your faux fur looks good quality. It's well worth it!

I have always wanted a red coat for winter. I just think it's a nice break from the sea of drab coats that you always see marching off the train at the station in the morning. So bleak.  I've always been on the lookout for one that's a bit more classic, with a little nod to British heritage- similar to my camel Burberry coat here, but I've never found one that fits the bill. I did however, find this this ultra modern, yet chic take on the red coat and I fell in love. The red is a vibrant perfect red, not to orange, not to deep. The best part is the faux-fur sleeve accent, which takes this coat to the next level. So much fun to wear!

This coat will truly stand the test of time. You can't go wrong with a black tailored coat, especially with a classic gold button, which adds a statement look. I especially like a wrap coat, as I feel it just keeps you that little bit extra warmer and I will definitely be investing in one in the Boxing Day sales.

Whether it be the classic leopard print or snow leopard, this is another of my favorite coats this season. While I would wear most things without worrying about the opinions of others an all faux fur coat or an all leopard coat improbably where I draw the line. So it's been a delight to see the leopard coat come in full force this season. I've picked some full on leopard coats that I feel in love with, but if you're looking to blend in a bit more with your winter surroundings I also picked a more understated snow leopard coat, linked below.
This is the hardest coat for me to style out, but I have seen so many bloggers do an amazing job styling these, they had to make the list. I will eventually get around to purchasing the cream one from my picks and I am hoping to pair with some straight leg jeans and loafers. I think the cream color adds a polished edge to an otherwise more unstructured coat. On the plus size there is nothing more warm than wearing a giant teddy blanket!

  3. As I'm so into anything leopard, I'm dreaming of adding a leopard coat to my collection.
