5 Ideas to Inspire Your New Year's Resolutions

I love New Year's Resolutions. I know a lot of people really don't like them and they get a lot of negative attention, (read my post here about setting positive new year's resolutions ) so much so, that people try to effectively re-brand them as intentions or goals etc.  So call them whatever you like, regardless of the branding, setting some type of goal and reflecting back on your life is important. We do these kind of yearly reviews or feedback activities at work and in our outside hobbies, so why would we not look to improve ourselves on our own terms.

I'm probably a bit late to the game, but while I was doing some research, when my hubby and I were setting our own goals, I stumbled upon some amazing new year's resolutions inspiration and wanted to share here. What I found were some topics to inspire your new year's resolutions and reboot all the different parts of your life. I also thought I'd share some of my own goals in the ideas as well!

The Top 5 Coats for the Winter Season

I have been on the hunt for new coats this season for the last two months. I feels like I have looked at almost every major retailer in all of London. Sadly, it just seems like I haven't had any luck at all. Until this week, when I managed to find not one, but two amazing coats in one week. Then I began to find a flurry of more amazing coats, until it has just been coat after winter coat. Somehow, I think i have finally narrowed it down to my top 5 coats of the season

Transitioning Your Summer Bag

I was in Harrods at Heathrow when I first saw the Valentino Spike bag in the flesh. I had been shopping around all the other stores and nothing was really doing it for me. However the Spike immediately caught my attention, such a gorgeous bag!

Styling the Check Trend

I am a massive fan of the check "trend"- I use air quotes, because check isn't actually a trend at all. Even though it is having a major moment, check has stood the test of time and its part of the reason why I am super on board with this look. I've seen a lot of bloggers style the Prince of Wales check, but houndstooth has rocked the runway just as many times this season.

5 New Season Trends

RED TO TOE
The head to toe red look has to be my favorite autumn trend by a mile. I have always loved red, so pulling an all red look is so exciting. If you want to go fully fledged, I would pull together a tailored all red ensemble but if you want to soften the look, I would pair a thick red jumper with a knit midi skirt. Either way... OBSESSED!

The Last of Summer

Autumn is in full swing... seriously. It has done nothing but rain all day, which makes this blog post my last of summer post. Although, I feel constantly annoyed at just how cold it is outside, I am a true lover of autumn dressing. In fact sometimes, I really didn't wish I have a blog during the summer months, because I truly struggle to find summer outfits I really love. However, fall has an abundance of choices- chunky knits, jewel tones, thigh high boots.

Summer Chloe Inspired Look

SUMMER OUTFIT INSPIRATION
I have a really tough time dressing for Summer. I am much more of an Autumn (color-wise) and so finding the best pieces for summer always seems to be a bit tricky. I love the pastels, lace, and chiffon, but somehow some of these things end up looking a bit basic on me. So my solution to summer dressing is to take inspiration from my favorite summer designers to elevate my look. True- I do this with all seasons really, but its especially tricky in Summer.

Vacation Dressing Under £40

As soon as I book vacation, the first thing I start to think about is vacation pieces. Soon a pair of sandals or a new sundress turns it an almost entirely new wardrobe to take on vacation. While, I am not against buying a whole suitcase worth of new clothes it can get pricey and vacation dressing should be just the opposite. So, here are my tips on luxury vacation dressing for less.

The Honeymoon Year: Bangkok Grand Palace

Today is our first day back from our first trip out of our "Honeymoon Year." If you haven't read my post about it, you can find it here. We had an amazing trip and I can't wait to share all the highlights with you here and on Youtube! (If I can figure it out) These photos are from our first day in Bangkok at the Grand Palace. It was one of the most spectacular places I have ever seen and I can only imagine how much painstaking detail went into every centimeter of the buildings. Truly incredible.

THE PEARL EDIT

BY FAR... my favorite style introduction this season has to be the pearl embellishment. (Notice: I did not use the word trend!) The pearl is timeless and chic, yet this new take of popped on pearls and metal set pearls adds a current edge to the pearl. My favorite pieces so far have been from Zara and Gucci. Zara's website even has a whole section dedicated to pearls. I can't get enough of all of it, their pieces are the perfect mix of tailoring and pearl embellishment.

The Frayed Jacket

It's been an incredible unveiling of Spring/Summer 2016 and I have gone a little shopping crazy! It's not my fault though... I'm in love! Although, I need to be careful not to get too far ahead of myself, because it is still freezing outside!
Speaking of new seasons, I am hoping you guys have seen the Topshop Unique show yesterday. They had some great spring looks. If not you can watch here

In Love with Burberry

Happy Valentine's Day to all my lovely readers. I wanted to post this sooner, but I have spent the weekend in bed recovering from the most gluttonous dinner of my LIFE. On Friday we went to Smith & Wollensky for a surf and turf dinner. It was so delicious that I finished the entire thing! Smith & Wollensky's has a bit of a 20s vibe, beautiful emerald awnings, intricate tilings on the wall, gorgeous gold and marble bar and dimmed lights etc... But I have been paying the price for eating a huge slab of prime rib, a lobster tail (it was my first time having lobster and one of only a few occasions, where I have eaten red meat) and a couple of glasses of prosecco...

Ruby Dress

Every so often Harry and I go for an extended family dinner at the Ashdown park hotel. It's a beautiful estate built in 1693 and it's a really meaningful place for our family. I remember my first time walking in and just being completely awe struck and then sitting down to the loveliest three course meal.

Perfect Valentine's Day Outfit

I love love love Valentine's Day. L-O-V-E.
So, it pains me whenever I hear people hating on Valentine's day because they are single. It doesn't have to be like that! Valentine's day is about love, not just romantic love, but all kinds of LOVE. For example, every year my mother buys me something for Valentine's day, not anything big usually just a picture or a little necklace, but it's the love that counts.
Do you guys ever celebrate Galentine's Day (Valentine's day with your girlfriends!) or celebrate Valentine's with your family or is this just me?

How to Style Winter White

I love a monochrome outfit, red on red, all cobalt, etc, but I especially love an all cream outfit. I don't think anything screams luxury like cream on cream on more cream. And as the British weather gets continually gloomy (it was raining while we were taking these photos), its nice to feel a bit brighter and warmer. Although, ideally, I would have been wearing this outfit on the ski slopes in Austria, unfortunately I had no such luck!

Winter Chills

I think New Year's resolutions get a bit of a bad rep. I understand that most people are like I want to lose 50 lbs and have rock hard abs and then quit 5 days after eating healthier. I don't blame people for not wanting to set goals like this, its actually a bit counter-productive. However, it is really important to set clear and focused goals and to take the time out of our hectic schedules to reflect on what kind of person we have become and what kind of person we want to be. I think the New Year is a reminder to better ourselves, but it shouldn't be the only time in the year we set out to re-evaluate. Here are some tips I use to help set goals and stick to them, I hope they help change your mind about New Year's resolutions!

Holiday Pajama Jam!

Anyone who knows me knows I have a bit of an obsession with pajamas... I just think, we spend so many hours in our pjs why not put a little bit of glamour in them! And they're not just for sleeping anymore, I love waking up on a Saturday morning and sipping hot chocolate on the couch in my comfies, especially during the festive season.
